Treating Damage and Decay with Quality Restorative Dentistry

Damage and decay can compromise not only the appearance, but the health of your smile, as well. Dr. Julie Liberman performs safe, effective restorative dentistry procedures at her practice in Great Neck, NY, to treat issues such as chipped, cracked, and even missing teeth.

In addition to providing her patients with enduring solutions, Dr. Liberman also prioritizes creating a positive experience in a stress-free environment. She understands that dental appointments can often be a source of anxiety for many patients and approaches every case with a warm and caring attitude.

What is Restorative Dentistry?

Restorative dentistry treatments restore and repair damage caused by common oral health issues. With each of these treatments, the goal is to recover the full function and health of your smile. Treatments such as dental crowns and bridges both repair damage and protect your teeth from future complications.

Treatments We Offer

Dr. Liberman can provide a full range of restorative procedures, particularly specializing in custom dental crowns and bridges. During a comprehensive consultation, she will review your medical history and ask about your goals for treatment. Depending on the procedure that seems most appropriate, she may request x-rays so that she can more closely examine your teeth and jaw. Based on her findings, she can then recommend a treatment plan that is suited to your needs and goals.

A custom dental crown can be placed over the natural tooth structure to restore shape, size, and strength.

Dental Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are two types of restorations often recommended to protect and repair damaged teeth. Typically made from porcelain or zirconia, crowns are essentially small caps placed on top of a tooth. Dr. Liberman may suggest a crown to:

  • Reestablish structural integrity to a broken or chipped tooth
  • Provide protection after root canal therapy
  • Improve the shape or appearance of a tooth
  • Support a tooth with a large filling
  • Replace a missing tooth when anchored by a dental implant

While a bridge can serve many of the same purposes as a crown, it is usually used to replace several consecutive missing teeth rather than protecting a tooth. Anchored by dental crowns on either side of the gap, this restoration literally bridges the gap left behind after tooth loss.

Other Procedures

In addition to dental crowns and bridges, we also offer:

Dentures
Often suggested for patients with widespread tooth loss, these prosthetics replace a full dental arch. While some patients may be suited for a traditional denture, we often recommend that patients secure their prosthetic with dental implants.
Dental Bonding
Dr. Liberman can sometimes treat minor chips and cracks with this cosmetic procedure. Occasionally suggested as an alternative to dental fillings, this malleable material is applied to the tooth and hardened with a special light to lengthen the tooth and conceal stains.
Dental Fillings
Fillings are usually used to replace dental tissue lost to decay or trauma. Dr. Liberman offers tooth-colored fillings made from composite material for a restoration that blends in with your natural enamel.
Dental Implants
These small titanium posts are surgically implanted into the jaw to secure dental crowns, bridges, or dentures to fully replace a missing tooth from root to crown. Dr. Liberman can restore dental implants with high-quality prosthetics for durable, long-lasting results.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
Patients who require extensive restorative care can often combine multiple procedures into a comprehensive full mouth reconstruction. Dr. Liberman can work with you to plan your procedures for the most efficient treatment.

During your appointment at the office, Dr. Liberman will conduct a thorough examination of your smile to determine which procedure will most benefit you.
